The rest of the open libraries will keep their usual hours, offering borrowing and reading services as normal. Visitors can use the Flexibib system for self-service checkouts during this period. The decision on which libraries stay open falls under **Bücherhallen Hamburg**, managed by the city’s culture authority (**Behörde für Kultur und Medien**).
The changes mean most residents will still have access to library services over Christmas. Self-service options will help maintain convenience for borrowers. The reduced hours and closures apply only to specific branches, ensuring continued availability across much of the city.
