50 Seniors from Peine Visit Aschersleben, Enjoy ASCANIA Horse Festival
A group of 50 senior women and men from Peine recently visited Aschersleben, where they were warmly welcomed by the Aschersleben Senior Council and Mayor Steffen Amme at the community center in Wilsleben. The trip, organized by the Senior Council of Peine, took place on August 22, 2025.
The visitors started their day with a delightful breakfast, prepared by the local women's association. After fueling up, they explored the Wilsleben church, a historic site that was beautifully restored after German reunification by a dedicated support association. The group then attended the annual ASCANIA Horse Festival, a highlight of their trip.
In the festival tent, they enjoyed coffee and cake, accompanied by a lively concert by local singer Regina Ross. The Wilsleben church's restoration was recognized with a substantial monetary prize from the KiBa, a testament to the support association's hard work.
The group from Peine returned home with fond memories of their visit to Aschersleben, having experienced the city's rich history and culture, as well as its warm hospitality. The ASCANIA Horse Festival and the restored Wilsleben church were definite highlights of their trip.
