A Three-Week China Adventure Unveils Hidden Gems and Iconic Landmarks

A three-week journey through China and beyond is offering travellers a mix of iconic landmarks and hidden cultural gems. The trip starts with a flight from Vienna to Hong Kong and ends with a stop in Turpan, a historic Silk Road city. Along the way, visitors explore bustling cities, ancient temples, and breathtaking natural landscapes.

The adventure begins with a flight from Vienna to Beijing, followed by a connection to Hong Kong. Over days 2 to 4, travellers experience the city’s highlights, including a ride on the Star Ferry and a visit to the historic Man Mo Temple.

A change of scenery arrives on day 5 with a trip to Longsheng. Here, the Longji Rice Terraces—some of the world’s highest—stretch across the hillsides. The next day, the journey moves to Yangshuo, where a bamboo raft ride along the Li River offers a peaceful escape. Day 7 takes visitors to Fenghuang, a town famous for its well-preserved wooden stilt houses and ancient streets. The following two days involve a high-speed train to Zhangjiajie, where Tianmenshan National Park’s dramatic cliffs and forests await. Further north, Chengdu provides a chance to see giant pandas up close, while a Yangtze River cruise adds a scenic waterway experience. The tour also covers China’s most famous sites: the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Terracotta Army. Finally, on day 17, the Silk Road train journey reaches Turpan, a desert oasis with a rich history.

The trip blends urban exploration with rural beauty, from Hong Kong's skyline to the terraced fields of Longji. Travellers encounter both world-famous landmarks and lesser-known cultural treasures. The journey concludes with a stop in Turpan, marking the end of a diverse and immersive experience.
