Aachen Launches 'Photovoltaics Explained' Lecture Series to Boost Solar Energy Use
Aachen, in collaboration with the German Solar Energy Support Association, is kicking off the 'Photovoltaics Explained' lecture series on November 3. This initiative is part of the city's revamped solar support program, aiming to boost solar energy use and achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
The city's solar campaign, 'Aachen Solar Offensive', has entered its second round. It encourages locals to embrace solar energy and contribute to climate protection.
The support program focuses on multi-family homes and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). For commercial properties, roof assessments are subsidized up to 90% (maximum €4,000) and PV systems with €100 per kilowatt-peak (maximum €10,000). Multi-family homes can receive €200 per kilowatt-peak for PV systems (maximum €10,000) and €100 per usable storage capacity in kilowatt-hours for battery storage systems (maximum €5,000). Additionally, a flat-rate subsidy of €50 is available for solar neighborhood festivals.
The processing procedure of the support program has been digitized to streamline waiting times.
Aachen's commitment to solar energy is clear with the launch of the 'Photovoltaics Explained' lecture series and the revised solar support program. The city aims to make solar energy more accessible, particularly for multi-family homes and SMEs, as part of its goal to become climate neutral by 2030.
