On September 21, 2025, the annual Octoberfest parade of marksmen and traditional costume groups will take place in Munich, causing some disruptions to public transportation. Here's a breakdown of the affected routes and services:
Trams
- Tram 17 will be divided into two sections from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with services running between Amalienburgstraße to Karlsplatz (Stachus) and Sendlinger Tor to St. Emmeram.
- Tram 16 will operate on a shortened route from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, omitting the Sendlinger Tor stop.
- Tram 18 will be divided into two sections from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with Gondrellplatz to Karlsplatz (Stachus) and Sendlinger Tor to Schwanseestraße.
- Trams 27 and 28 will run on a shortened route from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with services between Petuelring or Scheidplatz to Kurfürstenplatz to Pinakotheken to Karlsplatz (Stachus).
- Tram 21 will run in the sections Westfriedhof - Hauptbahnhof Nord and St.-Veit-Straße - Max-Weber-Platz from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, omitting the Karlsplatz (Stachus) - Maximilianeum section.
- Tram 19 will run in the sections Westendstraße - Westfriedhof and Max-Weber-Platz - Berg am Laim Bf from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, also omitting the Karlsplatz (Stachus) - Maximilianeum section.
Bus Services
- Bus line 132 will run on a shortened route from 8 AM to 12:30 PM, with services between Forstenrieder Park to Harras to Implerstraße to Fraunhoferstraße.
- Bus line 153 will run on a shortened route from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with services between Trappentreustraße to Universität.
- A substitute bus 16 will only operate from around 3 PM due to street closures for the parade setup.
Additional Transportation
A shuttle service has been set up for participants of the Trachten and Shooting Parade, with shuttles running from 8 AM to 10 AM and 12:30 PM to 7 PM.
