Flight carrier Ryanair forbids hot beverages on board - Airline company Ryanair enforces ban on beverages served hot during flights

Ryanair, the budget airline, has recently adjusted its policies to ban hot drinks on board its flights. The ban, communicated to the Express newspaper via Aerotelegraph, applies to both coffee and tea, and passengers are also prohibited from consuming their own alcohol during the flight.

The spokesperson for Ryanair confirmed this information, stating that the ban is due to safety concerns. No other airlines have publicly communicated any changes to their policies regarding hot drinks on board, as of July 2025.

Jet2 has also implemented a similar ban for the same reasons. However, it seems that Condor and Lufthansa, including its subsidiary Eurowings, do not have such a ban in place, and no changes are planned.

Condor's spokesperson confirmed to Aerotelegraph that hot drinks can be regularly taken on board their flights. Similarly, Lufthansa does not have a ban on hot drinks on board, and no changes are planned.

KLM's policy regarding hot drinks on board is unclear due to inconsistencies in enforcement. Reports suggest that while coffee and the like can be taken on board, there have been instances of travelers being prevented from boarding with a hot drink, despite no official ban.

The ban on hot drinks by Ryanair might potentially increase sales of hot drinks and alcohol on board its flights, as passengers would need to purchase these items from the airline. However, it's too early to tell if this will be the case.

In conclusion, while Ryanair has implemented a ban on hot drinks and alcohol on board for safety reasons, other airlines do not seem to be following suit at the moment. Passengers are advised to check the specific policies of their airlines regarding hot drinks and alcohol before traveling.

I'm not sure if KLM has a specific policy on consuming personal hot drinks on its flights, as enforcement seems inconsistent.

Despite Ryanair's ban on hot drinks and alcohol, it appears that Condor and Lufthansa, including Eurowings, do not have similar restrictions in place for their flights.
