Alejandro Calvo Named New Head Chef at Pep Guardiola's Tast Manchester
Alejandro Calvo has been named the new head chef at Pep Guardiola-backed restaurant Tast and Tast Enxaneta in Manchester. Sandra Martorell, director at Tast, believes Calvo's culinary skills and passion make him the ideal candidate to lead the team and achieve their vision.
Calvo, originally from Santander, moved to Barcelona in 2012 to work under Paco Perez at Enoteca. He has over seven years of experience working with Perez, including helping him secure Michelin stars, such as the most recent one at Terra in S'Agaró in 2019. Tast, opened in July 2018, is a joint venture between Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola, colleagues Txiki Bergiristain and Ferran Soriano, and the Fazenda group. The restaurant aims to bring the joy of Catalan food to Manchester and provide an authentic Barcelona experience. Calvo is excited to lead the culinary team at Tast and make it one of the leading restaurants in Manchester's culinary revolution.
