Keeping Your World of Hyatt Points Active: A Comprehensive Guide

Welcome to our guide on managing your World of Hyatt points! This loyalty programme, operated by the renowned hotel chain Hyatt, offers a multitude of benefits for its members. Let's delve into the details of earning, transferring, and extending the validity of your World of Hyatt points.

Earning World of Hyatt Points

World of Hyatt points can be earned through eligible stays at Hyatt properties, meetings and events, and various promotions. The points can also be accrued through credit card spending, partner activities, and even by transferring points from cards that earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

Transferring World of Hyatt Points

Starting at 5,000 points, World of Hyatt points can be transferred to airline miles, with some exceptions offering a lower exchange rate. However, it's important to note that the transfer rate for airline partners like Aeromexico, LATAM, Air China, China Eastern, Qantas, Southwest, and Virgin Atlantic is less favorable.

Transferring Points to Family and Friends

World of Hyatt points can be transferred to family and friends by submitting a Point Combining Request Form. Each member can only be involved in one transfer transaction per 30 days.

Extending the Validity of Your World of Hyatt Points

World of Hyatt points expire after 24 months of inactivity, but can be extended with any earning or redeeming activity. Any qualifying activity such as stays at Hyatt hotels, earning or redeeming points through credit card spending, or partner activities will extend the validity of your points for another 24 months from that activity date.

World of Hyatt Elite Status

Hyatt has expanded to 3 elite status levels, each offering unique benefits. Discoverist status (10 eligible nights or 25,000 Base Points) offers a 10% point bonus, complimentary premium internet, late checkout, and points per dollar spent at American Airlines. Explorist status (30 qualifying nights or 50,000 Base Points) offers a 20% point bonus, upgrades to preferred rooms, and a choice of rewards after 30 qualifying nights or earning 50,000 base points. Globalist status (60 qualifying nights or 100,000 Base Points) offers a 30% points bonus, waived resort fees on free night awards, upgrades to the best room, complimentary breakfast, and access to a Globalist concierge.

Credit Cards Earning World of Hyatt Points

A number of credit cards earn World of Hyatt points, including the World of Hyatt Credit Card, World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, and cards that earn transferable points like Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards.
