Anticipated Traffic Congestion at Holiday Start - Averts Your Desire for Stress-Free Vacation

In the upcoming last weekend of July 2025 (July 25-27), several construction works are scheduled to take place in Berlin, Brandenburg, and surrounding areas, potentially causing traffic congestion and delays.

The most affected routes are expected to be major highways leading to and from the North and Baltic Sea coasts, the A2 highway between Berlin and Hanover, the A9 motorway, the Berliner Ring (the highway ring surrounding Berlin), the A11 connecting Berlin to Dreieck Uckermark, and the A24 highway.

These routes are anticipated to experience heavy traffic due to the start of summer vacations in Berlin, Brandenburg, and several northern German states, combined with returning travelers from eastern regions such as Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia.

In addition to these, several construction projects are underway. The A13 sees construction works between Freiwalde and Lübbenau. Various construction works are also ongoing on the western Berliner Ring between Werder and Groß Kreutz, the eastern ring between Erkner and Spreeau, and the southern ring between Ferch and the Potsdam autobahn interchange.

Moreover, bridge construction is taking place between Wollin and Buckautal-South. Road resurfacing is being carried out between Spanische Allee and the Brandenburg state border.

For those planning to travel during this period, it is advisable to consider alternative routes or adjust travel times to avoid peak hours.

On Saturday, construction works may start as early as possible or continue in the afternoon. On Sunday, works may commence early in the morning or after 7 pm, with traffic being rerouted over the opposite lane on the Ringbahn bridge and restrictions also at the Westend bridge due to the closure of the Ringbahn bridge.

Road resurfacing is also scheduled on the A9 between Beelitz and the Potsdam triangle.

Travelers are advised to check real-time traffic updates and plan their journeys accordingly to ensure a smoother travel experience during this period.
