The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre has announced the 2025 edition of the Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries, a two-day event scheduled for September 14-15, 2025, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. This congress is a significant part of the Centre's broader effort to position the Arabic language at the heart of cultural innovation.

The Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries reflects Abu Dhabi's growing reputation as a global hub for creative industries and cultural exchange. The event aims to bring together thinkers, creators, and industry leaders to explore new ideas for the Arabic creative sector.

The theme of the congress is "Arabic Creativity Reimagined: Innovation in Storytelling and Audience Engagement." The focus is on the evolving role of the Arabic language in the region’s growing creative economy, encompassing publishing, AI, digital storytelling, content creation, youth innovation, and broader creative industries beyond traditional publishing.

Key features include expert-led panels and global dialogues, workshops, networking sessions, and interactive cultural events. These activities are designed to encourage collaboration and global partnerships. Prominent cultural figures, including Lebanese director/actress Nadine Labaki, Tunisian Egyptian actress Hend Sabry, and Jordanian director/actress Tima Shomali, will headline the event.

The congress will explore how modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, can be used to support Arabic storytelling and creative production. Big tech companies such as Google, Meta, Snap Inc., and TikTok will be present, exploring how technology can enhance Arabic content and storytelling digitally.

An important component is the Innovation Awards, inviting students and young creatives to pitch ideas that promote Arabic language innovation in creative industries. The Congress X Youth Programme will be a dedicated space for university students, offering capacity-building workshops, innovation awards, and opportunities for young creatives to present their work and connect with professionals.

The Professional Capacity Building Tracks will be run in collaboration with major industry players such as Google, Amazon Web Services, TikTok, Adobe, and Sard Writers' Room. Sessions will include practical workshops and training on topics such as digital publishing, scriptwriting, audiobook production, game design, and building sustainable business models in the digital world.

The congress will welcome a wide range of participants, including writers, filmmakers, tech experts, media professionals, policymakers, and creative entrepreneurs from across the region and beyond.
