Association Saves Zille Ferry in Marienthal with €4,000 Donation

The Association for Leisure Activities in the Regensburg Area e.V. has stepped in to ensure the operation of the Zille in Marienthal, donating 4,000 euros. This generous contribution aims to provide residents and visitors with a relaxing experience, with the Zille playing a central role in the region's leisure activities.

The Zille, a ferry service, connects the Burgensteig between Marienthal and Burg Stockenfels with other routes in the area, facilitating access to hiking trails. It operates from May to the end of September, enhancing the quality of life in the region. Deputy Mayor Bruno Schleinkofer fondly remembers crossing the Regen with his father on the Zille when he was just five years old. The Association for Leisure Activities regularly supports such projects that expand leisure opportunities and strengthen the region sustainably. Mayor Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer and District Administrator Tanja Schweiger both emphasize the importance of the Zille for relaxation in the region and support its operation.

The Zille in Marienthal ensures its continued existence and allows for further development, thanks to the 4,000 euro donation from the Association for Leisure Activities. This investment in sustainable leisure culture benefits both residents and visitors, providing an attractive offer for relaxation in the region.
