Barratt Homes Launches The Woodlands: £15m Investment in Canterbury

Barratt Homes has launched The Woodlands, a new development in Broad Oak, Canterbury. The project promises over £15m investment in local improvements and will offer 456 homes, including 123 affordable ones, along with on-site facilities. Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt Kent, revealed the development's unique features and connection to nature.

The Woodlands will boast energy-efficient boilers and high insulation levels, along with hedgehog highways, great crested newt habitats, and bat and bird boxes to enhance biodiversity. Electric vehicle charging points will be installed throughout the development, which also includes allotments, schools, retail units, and a rugby club. The first phase consists of 121 homes, 54 of which are affordable.

The development is perfect for families, with 'Good' and 'Outstanding' schools nearby and a bustling High Street in Sturry. It offers two, three, and four-bedroom homes surrounded by ancient woodland. Natalie Perry commented on the Rupert Bear-themed road names, reflecting the development's connection to nature. A network of pedestrian and cycle routes will connect residents to surrounding areas.

Upon completion, The Woodlands will bring significant benefits to Broad Oak and the surrounding area. The development's sustainability features and family-friendly amenities make it an attractive prospect for homes for sale. With over £15m invested in local improvements, the community can expect enhancements to education, adult social care services, community learning, the library, and local infrastructure.
