1.1 Million Christmas Travelers Expected at BER - Berlin Airport braces for record 1.1 million holiday travelers

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is preparing for its busiest period of the year. Between December 19, 2025, and January 4, 2026, around 1.1 million passengers are expected to pass through its terminals. To handle the surge, the airport has introduced new measures to reduce delays and improve efficiency.

The Christmas weekend alone will see roughly 220,000 travellers, with Friday predicted to be the peak day at about 79,000 passengers. Popular holiday routes from BER include Spain, Italy, Turkey, France, and the United Kingdom.

The new systems and passenger advice come as BER braces for its highest traveller numbers of the season. With over a million people expected in just over two weeks, the airport’s preparations focus on keeping wait times manageable. Officials continue to monitor flow and adjust operations as needed.
