Christmas Lights Illuminating Ku'damm - Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm dazzles with Europe’s longest festive light display

Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm is now glowing with one of Europe’s longest festive light displays. Stretching roughly 4.5 kilometres, the annual illumination features over 550 decorated trees and whimsical figures. This year, funding came together through a mix of crowdfunding, sponsors, and community support after concerns about financial shortfalls.

The lights were officially switched on by Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) and Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf District Mayor Kirstin Bauch (Green Party). The display runs from KaDeWe to Halensee, shining daily from sunset until 11:00 PM until January 6, 2026.

The lights will remain on for visitors until early January. The success of this year’s display relied on broad community involvement and targeted fundraising. Without these efforts, the future of the beloved tradition could have been at risk.
