Boeing sued for £30M after toxic fumes leave professor with brain damage

A law professor is suing Boeing for £30 million after toxic fumes on a Delta flight left him with severe brain damage. Jonathan Harris, who was travelling from Atlanta to Los Angeles in August 2024, now struggles with memory loss, tremors, and an inability to stand without support.

During the flight, Harris was exposed to toxic fumes that caused breathing difficulties and vomiting. He was later hospitalised with dangerously low oxygen levels, elevated bicarbonate, and high carbon monoxide in his blood.

Harris’s lawsuit highlights the potential risks of fume exposure on commercial flights. The outcome may influence future claims against Boeing and other manufacturers.
