British Airways Offers £2 Flights to Toulon and Real Madrid—With a Big Catch

British Airways has announced £2 flights to Toulon and Real Madrid for summer 2026. The deal, however, comes with a catch—travellers must also use a large number of Avios points to secure the tickets.

The promotional fares mark the airline's 50th Avios-only flight since the scheme began in 2023. All seats on these routes are reserved exclusively for loyalty programme members booking with points.

The flights will depart from London City Airport, with cash fares starting at just £2 one way. Passengers must also redeem 21,500 Avios for Toulon or 28,000 Avios for Real Madrid to complete the booking. Each ticket includes one checked bag of up to 23kg.

The Toulon service will run as a limited seasonal route, operating only on June 13 (outbound) and June 20 (return). British Airways has not expanded its Avios-only destinations since 2023, simply reintroducing these same routes as part of its 50th such promotion.

The airline has adjusted reward fares in response to rising costs and changes in the UK's November 2025 Budget. As a result, both the Avios and cash portions of some reward tickets have increased. Despite this, the £2 cash fare remains the headline offer for these summer 2026 flights.

The promotion continues British Airways' Avios-only flight programme, which began in 2023. Travellers must hold enough points to access the £2 fares, with no new destinations added since the scheme's launch.

The limited Toulon service and Real Madrid route will operate under the same terms as previous Avios-only flights. All seats remain restricted to loyalty members redeeming points alongside the cash payment.
