British Tourist Dies in Morocco Off-Road Truck Crash During Pan-African Trek

A 70-year-old British tourist has died after an off-road tour truck crashed into a tree in Morocco. The accident happened on October 30 near Kentira, during a long-distance adventure organised by a Leeds-based company. Six others were injured in the same incident, and an American passenger later died while being airlifted home.

The crash occurred during a 23-week pan-African trek run by Oasis Overland, a firm specialising in extreme holidays. The route, stretching from Fes in Morocco to Cape Town in South Africa, cost participants nearly £10,000 each. The truck involved had already been in an earlier collision, striking a pedestrian just the day before.

The accident has left two tourists dead and six others injured. Authorities have not released further details about the cause of the crash or any ongoing investigations. The tour, originally planned to last over five months, has now been disrupted for the remaining participants.
