Carnival Cruise cancels 11 autumn voyages from Long Beach in 2026
Carnival Cruise Line has announced changes to its autumn 2026 sailings from Long Beach, cancelling 11 voyages due to a ship's relocation. The company will also release its first-quarter financial results on March 27, 2026, with analysts predicting strong earnings. Meanwhile, demand for themed cruises along the US East Coast continues to rise sharply.
The cancelled sailings were originally set between October 12 and November 16, 2026. Affected passengers can choose between rebooking or a full refund. Those who rebook by March 25, 2026, will also receive a $50 per-person onboard credit.
The adjustments come as the Carnival Firenze prepares to move from Long Beach to Miami before starting year-round service from New York City in summer 2027. The ship, which holds around 4,126 passengers, will replace the Carnival Venezia, offering four- and five-day cruises to Bermuda and Canada from May 27, 2027. Its design follows a 'Fun Italian Style' theme.
For the Carnival Panorama, routes from Long Beach have been tweaked. Destinations like Cabo San Lucas remain on the schedule, but port times and sequences have changed.
Financially, Carnival reported record revenue of $26.6 billion in 2025, with operating income climbing 25% to $4.5 billion. The company aims for an adjusted net profit of $3.5 billion in 2026. Analysts expect first-quarter 2026 earnings per share to exceed $0.18, with revenue reaching $6.13 billion.
Over the past two years, demand for themed cruises along the US East Coast has surged by 25–30% annually. Popular destinations include New England, Bermuda, and Charleston, with Miami serving as a key departure port. The growth reflects post-pandemic recovery and a preference for personalised experiences, such as culinary, historical, and music-themed voyages.
Carnival's stock currently trades at €21.24, roughly 14% below its 200-day moving average. The company's upcoming financial report and strategic ship repositioning will likely shape its near-term performance. Passengers affected by the cancellations have until March 25, 2026, to take advantage of rebooking incentives.
