Carnival Cruise Line's Loyalty Program: VIFP Club [Review]
Carnival Cruise Line is overhauling its loyalty scheme by replacing the long-standing VIFP Club with a new programme in 2026. The current system, which rewards passengers based on days sailed, will end on August 31, 2026, making way for Carnival Rewards—a spending-focused alternative.
The VIFP Club currently operates with five membership tiers: Blue, Red, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Members earn one point per day sailed, unlocking increasingly valuable perks as they progress. Blue members receive newsletters and promotional offers, while Red members get a complimentary water bottle. Gold-tier passengers enjoy a free drink on longer voyages and a commemorative pin. Platinum members benefit from priority services, onboard gifts, and laundry perks, whereas Diamond members access exclusive events, cabin upgrades, and complimentary amenities.
The programme also partners with Carnival Players Club for casino rewards and Wyndham Rewards for bundled travel benefits. Enrolment is automatic after completing a first cruise, with no sign-up required. From August 31, 2026, all VIFP Club members will transition to Carnival Rewards. Their final VIFP tier on that date will determine their starting level in the new scheme. Unlike the current system, Carnival Rewards will focus on spending, allowing passengers to redeem points for onboard purchases and experiences.
The change marks a shift from days sailed to spending-based rewards. Existing members will retain their status level when moving to Carnival Rewards. The new programme aims to offer more flexibility in redeeming benefits during cruises.
