Cernobbio Transforms into an Open-Air Art Gallery with Traces Exhibition
Cernobbio, a picturesque lakeside town on Lake Como, is now home to an open-air art exhibition. Titled Traces, the show features 15 striking installations by Italian artist Davide Dall'Osso. The works are part of the wider Shadows and Presences project, which turns the town's streets and landscapes into a living gallery. The exhibition runs until October 4, offering visitors a chance to explore Dall'Osso's bold sculptures. Among the pieces, horses take centre stage as powerful symbols, linking history with modern ideas. Alongside them, masks and dancers appear, each installation designed to interact with Cernobbio's natural and urban surroundings.
Francesca Bogliolo curated the event, shaping how the artworks engage with their environment. The project marks the second phase of *Shadows and Presences*, a three-year initiative backed by the local municipality and Galp. Its goal is to blend contemporary art into everyday spaces, inviting public interaction. The town itself becomes part of the experience. Paths, squares, and lakeside spots now host these installations, turning Cernobbio into an open-air museum. The artworks encourage reflection on how past and future connect through creative expression.
The Traces exhibition remains free to visit until its closing date. Dall'Osso's sculptures, particularly the horses, highlight the project's focus on symbolism and place. By integrating art into public spaces, the initiative offers a new way to experience Cernobbio's cultural landscape.
