Chemists' Forum Boosts Belarus-Nizhny Novgorod Chemical Industry Ties
An 'Chemists' Forum' event took place in Minsk on September 29, bringing together over 20 organizations from Nizhny Novgorod and 30 from Belarus. The event was part of the 'Innoprom. Belarus' exhibition, where nine Nizhny Novgorod companies showcased their products. The event was organized as part of the national project 'International Cooperation and Export', led by Igor Vasiliev in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Andrei Sanosyan, Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod, greeted participants, emphasizing the significance of Belarus as a key trade partner for my business. The Nizhny Novgorod region is a major player in the Russian chemical industry. Dzerzhinsk, its 'heart', houses five specialized research institutes and employs around 16,000 workers. Chemistry and petrochemistry are 'pillars' of the region's industry, contributing almost 10% of ethylene and over 36% of polyvinyl chloride in Russia. The 'Chemists' Forum' facilitated business negotiations between representatives of Belarusian and Nizhny Novgorod enterprises over two days. The Center for Export Support covered the costs of Nizhny Novgorod enterprises' internal transportation within Belarus and their participation in the business program. This event is expected to strengthen ties between the chemical industries of the two regions.
