CII's Virtual Visit to Singapore Boosts India-Singapore Economic Partnership

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recently held its annual CII Core Group visit to Singapore, this time virtually in September 2020. The event marked a significant step in the ongoing India-Singapore economic partnership, with a focus on digital, start-up-based, technical cooperation, logistics and supply chains, education, and manufacturing, fintech, and university-industry collaboration.

CII's journey in Singapore dates back to 1993, when then Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong sparked 'India Fever'. Dr. Sangita Reddy, who engaged CII in 2020, proposed a wide range of collaborations, including digitization, start-ups, tech collaborations, logistics, education, manufacturing, fintech, and university-industry R&D.

The core group met with high-ranking Singaporean ministers and engaged with leaders of Enterprise Singapore and the Economic Development Board. Key focus areas for the next year include digitization, start-ups and tech collaborations, logistics and supply chains, skills and education, smart manufacturing, fintech, and university-industry connect for R&D.

India's rise as a confident economic and strategic powerhouse will be bolstered by Singapore's support and partnership. CII remains committed to strengthening the India-Singapore relationship and boosting collaboration. Singapore's advanced technological excellence and expertise make it an ideal partner for India's technological and digital economy transformation.
