Cultural Bakery Hanstedt Wins 'Blue Lion' for Intercultural Excellence

The Cultural Bakery Hanstedt has been recognised for its exceptional efforts in promoting intercultural exchange. The 'Blue Lion' cultural award was presented to the project, which stood out among eight others for its diverse and engaging events.

The award ceremony, held at the Empore in Buchholz, was a celebration of unity in diversity. It featured 40 nations and cultures, with a programme that included Taizé songs, chansons, and interviews conducted in various native languages. The event was attended by 220 guests, who enjoyed the cultural performances and conversations.

The ceremony was accompanied by lively Klezmer music from the group 'A Mekhaye'. Gerd Küster, the founder of Kulturbäckerei Hanstedt, accepted the award on behalf of all involved. County Commissioner Rainer Rempe and Holger Iborg, representing the supporting Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude, congratulated the Cultural Bakery Hanstedt for its successful 'Intercultural Exchange' event.

The Cultural Bakery Hanstedt's commitment to fostering understanding and exchange among different cultures has been commended.
