Cyprus Shatters Tourism Records with 4.5 Million Visitors in 2025

Cyprus has seen a record-breaking year for tourism in 2025, with over 4.5 million visitors arriving on the island. The Mediterranean destination, roughly the size of Delaware and home to around 900,000 people, continues to attract travellers with its sunny climate and rich cultural sites.

The island enjoys one of Europe’s sunniest climates, with around 300 days of sunshine each year. Winters remain mild, with temperatures between 61°F and 64°F, while summers can soar to 99°F along the coast. Spring and autumn offer more comfortable conditions, averaging 79°F in May and 70°F in the later months.

Paphos, a popular resort town on the west coast, has become the main tourist hub. Last year, it saw over 30% growth in visitor numbers. The area is famous for its affordable beachfront hotels, some starting at just $50 a night. It also boasts the Tombs of the Kings, a UNESCO-listed site featuring ancient Greek burial chambers. Nearby Limassol has also experienced a surge in tourism. Both cities are expanding their infrastructure to meet demand, focusing on cultural heritage and beach tourism.

With its warm weather, historical landmarks, and growing tourism sector, Cyprus is set to remain a top destination. The island’s mix of affordability, sunshine, and cultural attractions continues to draw millions of visitors each year.
