Your feedback is essential!
Denmark's Easter break is upon us! Starting this Friday, most schools and some workplaces are closing until the end of the Easter weekend.
Hitting the Road? 🚗
Many folks might jet off for an Easter adventure this weekend, while some may wait till next week. The first Easter public holiday falls on Thursday, April 17th this year, granting a five-day break from April 17th-21st, without the need for any leave from work!
Parents might choose to unwind as soon as Friday, April 11th, as school holidays kick off today. Some workplaces might mirror these dates. Alternatively, they could take annual leave on Monday to Wednesday next week, coinciding with their children's school break.

For motorists, expect traffic congestion from as early as 2 pm on Friday and stretching into the evening. Some Saturday locations might see queues between 10 am and 2 pm. On Wednesday, traffic will be heavier from 2 pm until 6 pm, with the same holding true for Maundy Thursday, from 10 am to 2 pm.
According to Vejdirektoratet, outward travel will mainly move from Copenhagen towards Funen and Jutland, with areas heavy in summer homes like Jutland's west coast and the north and western coasts of Zealand seeing increased traffic.
Tips and Tricks 💡
- Leave plenty of time for your journey.
- Check traffic updates before heading out.
- Avoid peak travel hours where possible.
Be aware of ongoing road works on the E45 motorway in Jutland, where the speed limit is reduced to 80 kilometers per hour in several sections, including between Vejle and Randers, which also encompasses Aarhus.
A Smooth Return 🚶
The end of the Easter period is expected to proceed without significant traffic disruptions, due in part to the extra days for return journeys to be spread out.
Vejdirektoratet advises driving off-peak where possible on major travel days.
Happy Easter travels, and stay safe on the roads!
