Davao's Bagobo Klata Unveils First Cultural Heritage Center, TID'DOM
Davao City's Bagobo Klata community has opened its first cultural heritage center, TID'DOM. This unique space offers interactive learning experiences, teaching traditional music and demonstrating tribal attire. It's the only such center among the 42 validated barangays in the region.
TID'DOM houses a rich collection of traditional artifacts, musical instruments, and cultural items reflecting Bagobo Klata beliefs and history. Visitors can learn about the community's culture and participate in interactive sessions to play traditional instruments.
The center aims to be a living space for culture, practicing and teaching traditions to the wider public. It's open to both local residents and visitors, providing a unique opportunity to engage with the Bagobo Klata culture.
Datu Marvin Domingo, the tribal chieftain, initiated the center to preserve and pass on Bagobo Klata traditions. This is particularly important as the Bagobo Klata community is among the more vulnerable and diminishing indigenous groups in Davao City.
TID'DOM stands as a beacon of cultural preservation and education in Davao City. It's the only Bagobo Klata cultural heritage center in the region, offering a unique opportunity to learn about and engage with this rich culture. The center's interactive learning experiences and dedication to preserving traditions are crucial for the future of the Bagobo Klata community.
