DBS and UnionPay team up to simplify cross-border payments for travelers

DBS, a leading Singaporean bank, has teamed up with UnionPay International to boost cross-border payment convenience for its UnionPay Platinum Debit Cardholders. This partnership supports growing economic and social ties between China and Singapore.

Cardholders can now enjoy fee-free overseas ATM withdrawals using the DBS UnionPay Platinum Debit Card. Moreover, they can link the card to popular Chinese payment platforms, Alipay or WeChat Pay, to get a 3% waiver on transaction fees for single transactions above RMB 200.

The partnership also extends to Belt and Road countries, allowing cardholders to use their cards across UnionPay's global merchant network. Until 31 March 2026, cardholders can receive up to 8% cashback and a 3% waiver on transaction fees when spending in China.

DBS's partnership with UnionPay International simplifies cross-border payments for its debit cardholders, particularly when traveling or transacting in China. The benefits, including fee waivers and cashback, are designed to enhance the user experience and support growing economic exchanges between China and Singapore.
