Disruptions in Travel at Pittsburgh International Airport Now Addressed by New Pilot Program

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) has launched a new program called 'We Got You.' This initiative aims to ensure prompt assistance for passengers who have lost items, missed connections, or need directions.

The program equips airport staff and volunteers with technology to enhance real-time problem-solving. The technology provided includes a built-in language translation tool, interdepartmental contact lists with frequently called numbers, and access to hotel, shuttle, and transportation information.

The technology integrates with FlightAware for real-time flight tracking, allowing helpers to stay updated on flight statuses and assist passengers accordingly. It also offers an overview of available services categorized by passenger type, making it easier for travellers to find the help they need.

Moreover, the technology includes a terminal map with real-time updates, ensuring that passengers can navigate the airport efficiently, even during disruptions. The map is designed to provide clear and up-to-date information about gate changes, lost luggage, and other common travel issues.

The 'We Got You' program is focused on Passenger Handling. The helpers involved in the pilot program at PIT are trained volunteers and staff members dedicated to assisting travelers in need. The program aims to address common travel disruptions such as lost luggage and last-minute gate changes.

The technology provided by the 'We Got You' program is designed to streamline the process of finding help at the airport, making travel more stress-free for passengers. With this new initiative, PIT continues to prioritize the needs and comfort of its travellers.
