E1 Lagos GP: First of Its Kind in Africa Set for October 2025

The Local Organising Committee, led by Samuel Egube, Deputy Chief of Staff to Lagos State's Governor, has given journalists a sneak peek at the racecourse and facilities for the upcoming E1 Lagos GP. This international boat racing championship, set for October 2025, is the first of its kind in Africa and promises to boost Lagos' and Nigeria's economies.

The E1 Lagos GP, scheduled from October 4 to 5, will take place on Lagos' waterways, showcasing the city's lifestyle, culture, and creativity. It aims to position Lagos as a hub for tourism and investment. The event is expected to draw spectators, tourists, and investors, creating opportunities for local businesses.

First Bank, acting as the presenting partner, sees the championship as a milestone for the bank and Nigeria. Yinka Ijabiyi, Acting Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, expressed the bank's commitment to supporting sports, lifestyle, and economic growth initiatives through this partnership.
