EcoMobile Freiburg launches 2026 season with 160+ interactive nature events
A new season of environmental education is about to begin in southern Germany. The EcoMobile Freiburg initiative will kick off on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with its first event in Freiburg-Tiengen. Two specially equipped vehicles will travel across the region, bringing interactive learning to schools, clubs, and communities.
The initiative, running under the motto 'Experience Nature – Learn About It – Protect It', will host over 160 events this year. The two EcoMobile vehicles will visit 28 municipalities and cities within the Freiburg administrative district. Activities are designed to help both children and adults explore links between daily life, the environment, and biodiversity.
Several public events are scheduled, including a stop at Freiburg's Seepark on June 13. The vehicles will also appear at the Lake Constance Night Festival in Konstanz on August 8 and the Feldberg Nature Park Market the following day. Another highlight is the Biosphere Festival in Hausen im Wiesental on September 6. The programme is free and accessible to all, with wheelchair-friendly lifts available. Schools, local groups, and residents can take part in hands-on learning experiences throughout the season.
The EcoMobile Freiburg initiative aims to reach a wide audience with its mobile environmental education. The 2026 season will cover diverse locations, from urban parks to rural festivals. Organisers have ensured the programme remains inclusive, with free access and adapted facilities for all participants.
