Elk Tourism in the Wildlife Park Thanks to Erwin? - Elk 'Erwin' Returns to Pforzheim Park, Sparking 'Elk Tourism'

Wildpark Pforzheim has recently gained an unexpected visitor - Erwin, an elch who strayed from his planned journey to the Bavarian Forest. The park, open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, charges €3 per car on weekdays and €5 on weekends. Erwin's presence could potentially boost visitor numbers, sparking 'elch tourism'.

Erwin, born in May 2024 as a twin, was initially meant to be given away to avoid inbreeding. However, he ended up at Wildpark Pforzheim after an unclear detour from his intended route to the Bavarian Forest. The police are investigating if any criminal offense was committed during his transport.

Erwin was eventually caught and returned to his original enclosure, where he calmed down with other elches. The park supports the ongoing investigations in the Ortenaukreis to understand the cause of his detour. Two consecutively purchased parking tickets at the park count as a day ticket.

Erwin, the elch who went astray, is now back at Wildpark Pforzheim. His unexpected presence could attract more visitors, benefiting the park. The investigation into his detour continues, with the park cooperating fully with the authorities.
