Festival invitation for three days in the metropolitan area, extended by Willich
The Willich Marketing Association is hosting the "Back to Willich" City Festival, a three-day event filled with music, food, and family-friendly activities. The festival kicks off on Friday evening with the "White Party," featuring music by DJ Marco Dessel from 4:30 PM to 10 PM.
On Saturday, the festival continues with a variety of performances. The Nettetal band 'OK - The Band from Nettetal' will take attendees back to the 80s, while another band, McLennon, will play hits from the Beatles and other rock history stars in the evening. Associations and institutions will present themselves on stage and with stands throughout the city during the festival.
The main day of the "Back to Willich" festival is Sunday, featuring a non-stop program on stage from 11 AM to 5:45 PM. A large stage of 8x6 meters will be set up on the market in front of St. Katharina's Church for the varied performances. Performances on Sunday include the Scouts, Schiefbahn Home Association, ASV, Prince's Guard, Junior Firefighters, DRK, Bossel and Bügels Club, KG Torfmöps, a fashion show, and MiniBeatz/TeenyBeats.
In addition to the performances, the festival will also offer a Gourmet mile with various culinary delights. Spirits from Wajos, cocktails, skewered meat, currywurst and fries, burgers, churros, burritos, pasta from the cheese wheel, and poffertjes will be available for food. A carousel will be available on Huelsdonkstraße for children, and the DRK and public toilets will also be there.
The festival program will span from the market, Huelsdonkstraße, Peterstraße to Kaiserplatz on Family Sunday. Another highlight of the festival is a giant bouncy castle named "Seaworld" set up by Halle 22, taking up a significant portion of the space. On Sunday, the Stadtfest Werbering Willich (city festival) takes place in Willich, and the bouncy castle will be part of the event.
Peterstraße will be included in the City Festival, but it presents a challenge due to its narrow width and the need to keep a certain width free for the fire department's movement zone. Despite this, the festival promises to be a memorable event for the whole family, with shopping events on Sunday making it a complete family day out.
