Festival Teatro de Olite kicks off at the National Dramatic Center this coming Friday, 26th, with the staging of 'Los brutos' installation.

The vibrant town of Olite is set to host the 26th Olite Theatre Festival, a captivating event that will run from July 18 to August 3. This year's edition promises an enchanting blend of music, dance, circus, clowning, walks, performances, and theatre, offering a multidisciplinary programme that caters to diverse tastes.

The festival will kick off on July 18 with the inauguration event, 'Welcome & Sorry' by GANSO & Cia. This thought-provoking performance will be followed by 'La Celestina, tragicomedia de Lita' and 'Los Brutos', other exciting shows on the first day.

Over the course of the 16-day event, Olite will welcome 27 companies from various regions, including Argentina, France, Andalusia, Castile and León, Madrid, and the Basque Country. In total, the festival will offer 40 shows, 15 of which have been created, written, or directed by women, reflecting a commitment to gender equality in the arts.

For those interested in workshops, six have been programmed, including 'Mask Workshop', 'Olite, Look at Me', 'We Must Save the Fire', 'The Speed of Light', 'Leadership of Groups and Projects and Self-Management', and 'The Spanish Constitution Explained by Children for Adults'. However, three of these workshops have already sold out, so early booking is advised.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased online through www.festivalteatroolite.es and www.fundacionbaluarte.com, or in person at the La Morea Shopping Center and the Baluarte box office until August 3. During the festival, tickets can also be purchased at Enozentrum in Olite.

Notably, shows at the Palacio Real de Olite, such as 'Enbor(r)ak' and Gorka Urbizu's concert, are free until capacity is reached. Other shows, like 'La Cava', have a general price of 20 euros, with a youth discount of 12 euros.

The festival will also host two creative residencies: 'Farmacia Marcial' and 'Oscopía: creo con ciencia, creo conciencia'. On the third day, there will be a meeting with artists and journalists at Enozentrum, followed by performances of 'OVVIO' and 'En mitad de tanto fuego'. The day will conclude with 'Welcome & Sorry' once more, and a performance by Nao Albet and Marcel Borràs.

For those seeking a more comprehensive experience, complete season passes for the 12 shows are available for 210 euros, with a youth price of 96 euros. Alternatively, a pick-three pass for 55 euros is available, with a youth price of 28 euros.

In addition, nine shows are by Navarra-based companies, two are in Basque, three are international, and three are accessible for people with visual and hearing impairments. Shows such as 'Los Brutos', 'Mihura', 'El último comediógrafo', and 'Las bingueras de Eurípides' will offer services for visually and hearing impaired individuals.

The festival will also extend to Tafalla, with 'La Celestina, Tragicomedia de Lita' and 'Thauma' shows, which have special prices of 8 and 6 euros respectively.
