Filipinos Abi Marquez and Kat Bautista Make History at 22nd International Business Awards
The 22nd Annual International Business Awards (IBAs) have concluded, with two Filipinos, Abi Marquez and Kat Bautista, making history by winning top honours in their respective categories. Their dual wins mark a significant milestone for Filipino representation at the prestigious event.
Abi Marquez, widely known as the 'Lumpia Queen', was named the Most Innovative Content Creator of the Year, winning the coveted Gold Stevie Award. This recognition adds to her impressive list of accolades, including the Webby People's Voice Award, Forbes Asia 30 Under 30, and Cannes WIBA Food Creator of the Year. Marquez's innovative content has elevated Filipino cuisine, particularly lumpia, on a global scale.
Kat Bautista, a Silicon Valley-trained strategist, became the first Filipino entrepreneur to win a Silver Stevie in the Best Female Entrepreneur category. She led NYMA through a pivotal buyout and positioned it for profitability, demonstrating her exceptional leadership and business acumen. Bautista's 'tradigital' approach combines technological innovation with Filipino cultural values, setting a new standard for entrepreneurship in the region.
The 2025 IBAs drew nominations from 78 countries and territories, making Marquez's and Bautista's wins even more remarkable. Both winners will be celebrated at a gala banquet on October 10, 2025, at the Corinthia Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal. Their achievements not only highlight their personal successes but also shine a light on the growing influence of Filipino innovators and entrepreneurs on the global stage.
