Light Art and Blossom Splendor in the Lausitzer Findlingspark - Findlingspark Nochten Launches 2024 Season with Glowing Art and New Festivals
Findlingspark Nochten has opened its doors for the 2024 season. The unique park in Brandenburg, near the Nochten open-pit mine, is Europe's only one of its kind, featuring around 7,000 glacial erratics. This year's programme kicks off with a family festival on Easter Monday, followed by a new German-Polish summer event in June.
The park first opened in 2003 and offers a three-kilometre circular trail linking seven themed gardens. Visitor numbers have grown steadily, rising from around 20,000 in 2021 to over 50,000 in 2025, with a peak of 60,000 in 2023. Factors behind this increase include the lifting of pandemic restrictions, new investments in play and nature areas, and stronger regional marketing.
Until March 29, the park will display light art installations by Jörg Hanitzsch under the theme *Spring Glow*. Highlights include *Glowing Penguins on a Downhill Run* and an *XXL spiderweb* stretching roughly 50 metres in diameter. During the day, guests can explore a 200-metre open-air gallery featuring Pop Art and the *Path of Hope*. The park will stay open until 10:00 PM to welcome evening visitors. On June 14, the new *Garden Magic* festival will celebrate German-Polish culture, adding to the park's expanding event calendar.
Findlingspark Nochten continues to attract more visitors each year. The 2024 season brings extended opening hours, fresh art installations, and new festivals. With its mix of natural beauty and creative events, the park remains a key destination in the region.
