Flydubai to Introduce Flights to Riga
Flydubai, the UAE-based airline, is set to enhance its European operations with the launch of direct flights to three new destinations: Chisinau, Moldova; Iasi, Romania; and Vilnius, Lithuania. The new services are scheduled to commence in September and December 2025, making Flydubai the first UAE airline to operate direct flights from Dubai to the Baltic States.
The new routes will provide an added value for both leisure and business travellers, offering an increased level of service and flexibility. Flydubai's network already spans over 135 destinations in 58 countries, and these new additions will further expand its reach to Moldova, Romania, and Lithuania.
The airline will start operating twice-weekly flights to Chisinau and Iasi from September 2025. The exact date for the launch of operations in Vilnius is not specified, but it is mentioned to be part of the new routes alongside Chisinau and Iasi. Thrice-weekly services to Riga, Latvia, will begin in December 2025.
Laila Odiņa, Chair of the Board of Riga Airport, expressed delight about the new Flydubai connection, stating that it will significantly improve the existing connection to one of the world's most important aviation hubs. The new flydubai connection between Riga and Dubai will be launched at the end of this year.
