Fredericksburg's Albert Hotel Blends History with Modern Luxury in Downtown Debut
A new boutique hotel has opened in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Texas. Named Albert Hotel, it honours the legacy of Albert Keidel, a local architect and preservationist with deep ties to the area. The property blends modern luxury with the town’s rich history. The hotel stands on the former site of the Keidel family pharmacy and homestead. The Keidels have been part of Fredericksburg since 1847, and the new development preserves their connection to the town. Clayton Korte led the design in collaboration with New Waterloo, ensuring the building respected its historic surroundings.
Inside, guests will find 105 rooms alongside three restaurants, two bars, and a full-service spa. A sunken outdoor pool, crafted from limestone, offers a relaxing lounge area. For events, the hotel includes a 3,600-square-foot dedicated space. Construction was handled by Joeris General Contractors, with VEI Consulting Engineers providing essential technical support throughout the project.
Albert Hotel now serves as a landmark in Fredericksburg’s downtown. Its mix of hospitality, history, and modern design reflects the town’s character. The venue is set to become a key destination for visitors and events in the region.
