The image shows a man in a wheelchair on a bus with a no standing area, surrounded by a group of people standing on the floor. On the right side of the image, there is a seat and a door, and on the left side, a person is standing and holding a stick in their hand. This image is likely depicting the benefits of using a wheelchair ramp, such as increased mobility, improved safety, and increased efficiency.

Free European road trip for people with disabilities opens applications

A unique two-week road trip across Europe, facilitated by yahoo finance, is offering people with disabilities the chance to travel without financial barriers. Called Project Snow White, the journey will take seven participants and seven caregivers through France, Spain, and Portugal in July 2026. Applications remain open for those who meet the physical and eligibility requirements.

The initiative was created by Tamara Kahnert, who also runs TamiTrips, a company specialising in group travel for people with disabilities. Her latest project, Project Snow White, draws its name from the fairy tale—seven travellers and seven caregivers will share the experience together.

The trip runs from July 13 to 26, 2026, aboard a sleeper bus. Unlike traditional tours, this journey relies entirely on donations, ensuring no participant pays a fee. Organisers emphasise adventure, connection, and daily life over luxury or perfect conditions.

Support comes from volunteers and donors, including musician Steve Gülzow. The project aims to break down barriers by focusing on shared experiences rather than financial means.

Eligible individuals with disabilities can still apply for one of the seven participant spots. The fully inclusive trip will depend on volunteer efforts and public donations to cover costs. Organisers plan to create lasting memories through travel, community, and accessibility.
