Gondwana's New Antarctic Expedition Blends Penguins, Culture and Adventure
Gondwana Ecotours has unveiled a new small-group expedition called Antarctica: Penguins & Polar Frontiers. The trip combines Argentina’s cultural highlights with a voyage to the Antarctic Peninsula. Travellers will explore historic research stations, spot marine wildlife, and enjoy guided activities led by seasoned experts.
The tour stands out by including internal flights, gratuities, and sea-kayaking in its base price—unlike most operators who charge extra for such experiences.
The expedition begins in Buenos Aires before moving south to Ushuaia, the gateway to Antarctica. From there, guests board a ship bound for the Antarctic Peninsula. Along the way, they’ll take Zodiac tours to observe penguins, visit research stations, and search for whales, seals, and seabirds.
Gondwana’s founders, Jared Sternberg and Eric Segalstad, will lead the trip alongside Dani Catania, an Argentine guide with over 20 years of Antarctic experience. Catania will share local insights, adding depth to the journey by linking the polar landscape with Argentina’s cultural heritage. Unlike many tours, this one includes guided sea-kayaking at no additional cost. The package also covers internal flights, airport transfers, and crew gratuities, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.
Full details, including the itinerary and brochure, are available on Gondwana’s official tour page. The expedition aims to offer a richer Antarctic adventure by blending wildlife encounters with cultural context. Travellers can expect a well-rounded journey, with most activities and logistics included upfront.
