Google Maps Now Shows Real-Time EV Charger Availability Worldwide

Google Maps has rolled out a new tool to help electric vehicle drivers find available chargers. The feature predicts how many charging stalls are free at a given location. It uses data from past charging behaviour to estimate current availability.

The update will appear on Android Auto and in cars with Google built-in. It covers hundreds of thousands of charging stations around the world. Drivers will see a ‘Charging success’ banner for stations that have been used recently.

The new tool aims to make EV charging more predictable and convenient. By showing real-time estimates, it helps reduce uncertainty for drivers. The feature is part of Google’s ongoing effort to support electric vehicle adoption.
