Hitachi Energy wins two 2026 SEAL Awards for groundbreaking sustainability innovations
Hitachi Energy has won two major awards at the 2026 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards. The company's hydrogen-powered generator, HyFlex®, received the Sustainable Product Award. Meanwhile, its Transformer Life Extension Services earned the Sustainable Service Award.
HyFlex® is a clean energy solution that produces electricity, heat, and water without combustion. A single 200-kilovolt-amperes (kVA) unit can replace up to 300 tons of diesel each year. This shift also prevents around 1,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
The Transformer Life Extension Services help utilities and industries extend the working life of power transformers. By preserving embedded carbon and cutting reliance on rare materials, these services improve efficiency and lower outage risks. The company's website supports this work with tools for condition checks and predictive maintenance.
Other 2026 SEAL Sustainable Product Award winners include Aiper Intelligent, Ansell Global, Asensus Surgical, BLUETTI, CH4 Global, and Sidel. The Sustainable Service Award also recognised Hitachi Energy's work in transformer sustainability. Additional honorees across categories included Elkem, Sesame Solar, DP World, Saudi Aramco, Lenovo, and CMI Orchards.
The awards highlight Hitachi Energy's role in advancing sustainable energy technology. HyFlex® and the transformer services both reduce emissions and improve resource efficiency. These solutions are now part of a broader push for cleaner, more reliable power systems.
