Hospital in Marbella transforms spaces with famous paintings by Alejandro Hermann
A new art exhibition has opened at Hospital Recoletas Salud Marbella, showcasing the work of Argentinian artist Alejandro Hermann. The display features eleven of his famous paintings, spread across the hospital's common areas for patients and staff to enjoy. Organisers hope the artwork will bring comfort and inspiration during hospital visits.
The exhibition is the result of a partnership between the hospital and Fundación [H]ARTE, an organisation dedicated to improving patient experiences through art. Led by Tamara Kreisler, the foundation highlights the therapeutic benefits of art, recognised by the World Health Organisation. This marks the second collaboration between the hospital and the foundation, following an earlier show by artist Hubertus von Hohenlohe.
Hermann's paintings reflect a variety of styles and themes, encouraging viewers to reflect emotionally and spiritually. Born in Buenos Aires, the artist has previously exhibited his work in cities across Spain and Europe. His pieces will remain on display for the next four months.
Carmen Rodríguez, manager of Recoletas Salud Marbella, described the initiative as a way to create a more welcoming environment. The exhibition is free to visit and located at Calle Maestra Doña Carola, 8, in Marbella.
The project aims to humanise hospital spaces by integrating art into daily life for patients and healthcare workers. With eleven famous paintings now on view, visitors have the chance to engage with Hermann's art until the exhibition closes in four months. The hospital plans to continue its collaboration with Fundación [H]ARTE for future artistic initiatives.
