Luxury Hotel Openings and Developments Across the Globe
In the world of high-end hospitality, several exciting new developments are underway, with luxury hotels slated to open in Australia, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and various other destinations.
Australia
The Barossa Valley in South Australia will soon be home to the Oscar Seppeltsfield Hotel, a six-star property opening in 2025. With 71 rooms boasting private balconies overlooking vineyards, a rooftop infinity pool, sky bar, spa, fine dining, and event spaces, it promises to be a significant luxury addition to the region. The InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa, set to open in 2028, will offer 150 rooms and panoramic vineyard views, catering to upscale travelers.
Melbourne is also seeing a revitalization with two unique IHG hotels scheduled to open in Q3 2025. Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins and Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall will blend modern design with historic Art Deco facades, adding to the city's vibrant hospitality scene.
Queensland is not left behind, with the Crowne Plaza hotel in Maroochydore set to open in 2028. Developed by IHG and Felix Capital, this hotel aims to meet the rising demand for conference and event facilities, enhancing the Sunshine Coast’s visitor appeal.
The Bahamas
The Bahamas welcomes Aman’s first luxury island retreat, Amancaya by Aman, announced for 2025. Located on two private islands, this ultra-luxury resort will feature 36 pavilions, a private marina, beach club, spa, and dining venues, marking Aman’s expansion into the Caribbean.
Turks and Caicos
Turks and Caicos continues to be highlighted by Aman’s existing ultra-luxury property, Amanyara. While no specific new openings have been detailed, Aman is expanding their Caribbean footprint overall.
Other Destinations
Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) announced 49 new additions in H1 2025 across various countries, reflecting a strong growth in independently minded boutique luxury hotels.
Elsewhere in the World
Several luxury hotels have opened in Prague, China, and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Other luxury resorts are set for Australia, Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas.
In Europe, Hyatt Place Gothenburg Central, Sweden, a 300-room hotel with a restaurant, bar, fitness center, flexible meeting spaces, and access to the city center, is now open. Ennismore is adding 6 all-inclusive resorts across the Americas, with over 1,600 rooms and 900 keys being added to the brand.
Muir, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Halifax, Canada, has opened with 109 guest rooms and suites. It offers a restaurant, a speakeasy, a wellness center, and a private yacht and motorboat program.
In Asia, Alila Dong'ao Island Zhuhai, China, an all-suite clifftop resort with 109 spacious suites, has opened. It offers 3 restaurants and bars, a gym, spa facilities, and is located less than an hour from the city by ferry.
Radisson Resort Mui Ne, Vietnam, has opened with 126 rooms, including beachfront villas and garden villas. It offers a kids' club, pet-friendly facilities, wellness and spa services, and watersports.
The Vanguard Hotel, Autograph Collection, Michigan is opening on May 6, 2025, with 188 guestrooms and 24 one-bedroom suites.
The InterContinental Brisbane, set to open in June 2025, will undergo a 2-year transformation. Upon completion, it will boast 321 guest rooms, 4 restaurants and bars, among other features.
Evermore Orlando Resort is now bookable with Hilton Free Night Certificates. Fairmont Golden Prague has officially opened with 320 rooms, suites, and serviced residences. It has 6 dining options, a spacious spa and fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool, and is now open.
The typical cash price for a night at The Vanguard Hotel, Autograph Collection is from $274. Hyatt Place Gothenburg Central is 20 minutes away from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport by public transportation. Every 2,000 ALL - Accor Live Limitless points can cover €40 (roughly $45) of the bill at Fairmont Golden Prague.
Hilton's Canopy brand is coming to Italy with Canopy by Hilton Milan, which will open later this year and have 96 guest rooms. The Luxury Collection is one of Marriott's signature brands.
