Iloilo's Top Food Stalls Sell Out Fast at Macau's Gastronomy Fest
Three popular food stalls from Iloilo are drawing crowds at the International Cities of Gastronomy Fest in Macau. The event, running from March 20 to 29, showcases culinary traditions from UNESCO-recognised gastronomy hubs. Visitors have already snapped up all offerings from the Iloilo vendors on the festival's second day.
The festival takes place at the International Gastronomy Promenade, located in Roman Amphitheatre Square and Legend Boulevard at Macau Fisherman's Wharf. Open daily, it welcomes guests from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
Representing Iloilo are Kap Ising's Pancit Molo, Netong's La Paz Batchoy, and Sunburst's Balay Tablea. According to the Iloilo City of Gastronomy Technical Working Group, all three stalls sold out their dishes by the end of March 22. Macau, one of only two UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy in the world, hosts the event alongside Kelowna, Canada's first city to earn the same title. The festival highlights diverse food cultures from these designated culinary capitals.
The strong demand for Iloilo's dishes suggests growing interest in Filipino flavours at the festival. With several days still remaining, organisers may adjust stock to meet visitor appetite. The event continues until March 29, offering more chances to sample the featured cuisines.
