Jackson Hole Leads 2026 Summer Rental Rush Across the US
Summer 2026 bookings for short-term rentals are already filling up across the US. Popular destinations show high demand, with some areas nearing half their properties reserved. Jackson Hole, Wyoming, leads the list with the highest occupancy rates for the season.
Jackson Hole tops the rankings, with 45.5% of its short-term rentals booked between June and August 2026. The region attracts visitors with activities like whitewater rafting, canoeing, and wildlife spotting in Grand Teton National Park.
Cape Cod, Massachusetts, follows with a 44% occupancy rate for the same period. Other coastal spots, such as the Outer Banks in North Carolina, have reached 41.4% bookings. Door County, Wisconsin, also remains a favourite, with 42.6% of its rentals reserved. New England destinations like Maine's Down East/Acadia coast (40.2%) and Maine beaches (40.7%) show steady interest. Newport, Rhode Island, sits at 40.4%, while the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska has a 40.3% booking rate. Michigan's west coast rounds out the list with 39.4% of its properties already taken.
These figures highlight strong early demand for summer 2026 rentals in both coastal and outdoor-focused locations. Jackson Hole's mix of adventure and scenery has secured its place as the most sought-after destination. Other regions, from Cape Cod to Door County, also reflect travellers' preference for scenic getaways.
