Join La Libre and Via Don Bosco as they offer a thrilling journey to Bolivia! Here's your chance to win the trip - find out how!
Via Don Bosco, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to providing education for young people living in difficult and precarious conditions, is inviting Dutch-speaking individuals to embark on an enlightening journey to Bolivia. This unique opportunity aims to gather feedback from participants to reflect on and develop future programs at Via Don Bosco.
Based in Latin America, Africa, and Belgium, Via Don Bosco works with eight schools in Bolivia, educating approximately 5,500 young people. Their education philosophy focuses on helping eradicate poverty, achieve equality, and promote gender equality, while allowing students to acquire a minimum level of knowledge quickly and with limited resources.
The trip, scheduled to last about ten days, will cover various urban and rural environments in Bolivia. Via Don Bosco will be accompanied by representatives from the organisation, a journalist from La Libre, and a reader chosen from the Dutch-speaking community. All logistics for the trip will be handled by Via Don Bosco, including providing interpreters.
Applicants for the trip must be at least 18 years old and in good health. No prior expertise or affiliation with Via Don Bosco is required. The organisation values transparency and responsible stewardship in its management of funds and resources, ensuring careful recording of expenses and mature, discerning spending aligned with their apostolic mission.
Via Don Bosco emphasises open communication with stakeholders like parents, fostering trust and community involvement primarily through internal and local community structures. They believe they have a responsibility towards their donors in terms of information and how funds are used.
Individual donations are one of the sources of funding for Via Don Bosco, and the organisation seeks external support to finance its various projects. Students who complete Via Don Bosco's technical and professional education can either start working or pursue further traditional training.
Applications for the trip can be submitted until July 7, with practical details available at lalibre.viadonbosco.org. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of Via Don Bosco's work and contribute to shaping its future programs. Don't miss out on this chance to make a difference!
