Khan Academy’s Art Workshop Reconnects Children with Nature Through Drawing

A day-long art workshop for children took place in Ramna Park last Friday. Organised by Khan Academy, the event marked its 12th founding anniversary. Young participants explored nature through drawing under the guidance of experienced artists and educators. The workshop, titled Chobi Akar Mela, brought together 35 students. They created artwork inspired by Ramna Park’s natural surroundings, using various artistic mediums. Visual artist Fatema Akter Bristy led the session, encouraging children to observe and interpret the park’s beauty. Renowned painter Abdul Mannan and child psychologist Afsana Yesmen Aurthi attended as special guests. Mannan raised concerns about children growing distant from nature due to pollution and digital entertainment. Aurthi, meanwhile, stressed the importance of direct outdoor experiences for a child’s development and self-assurance. The event aimed to reconnect young minds with their environment. No details about the academy’s founder or the workshop’s organisers beyond Bristy were available in the search results. The workshop provided children with a hands-on creative experience in a natural setting. Their drawings captured different elements of Ramna Park, reflecting both artistic skill and environmental awareness. The event reinforced Khan Academy’s commitment to blending art with nature for young learners.
