Kuakata’s beaches overflow as tourist rush fills hotels and shorelines
Kuakata’s 30-kilometre-long sea beach is drawing large crowds of visitors this season. Weekends see the highest numbers, with tourists filling the shoreline and nearby attractions. Many hotels and motels are now fully booked due to the surge in arrivals.
Families and couples are flocking to Kuakata to enjoy its natural scenery. Abdur Rahim, a visitor from Dhaka, makes the trip once or twice a year with his relatives. Imran and Reba, a couple from Comilla, recently explored spots like Lembur Char forest, where they watched the sunset.
Tourists are spending their days picnicking, taking photos, and relaxing by the sea. Popular destinations include Zero Point, Jhaubagan, Gangamati, and Lal Kankar Char. The high demand has boosted business for local hotels, motels, and restaurants.
To manage the crowds, Tourist Police patrols have increased across beaches and key locations. ASP Md. Mostafizur Rahman, head of the Kuakata Tourist Police Zone, is overseeing the security measures. Abul Hossain Raju, Managing Director of Green Tourism, believes visitor numbers will keep rising as transport links improve.
The influx of tourists has stretched accommodation capacity, with many struggling to find available rooms. Businesses are benefiting from the high demand, while police presence ensures safety for visitors. Kuakata’s popularity shows no signs of slowing down as more people discover its scenic beauty.
