Lancaster County's Holiday Model Train Displays Delight Visitors

Lancaster County is gearing up for the holidays with a variety of model train displays set to delight visitors of all ages. From historic societies to public libraries, these attractions offer a glimpse into the enchanting world of miniature railways.

Kicking off the season, the Columbia Historic Preservation Society welcomes visitors to its display for just $5 per person, with free entry for children under 12. Meanwhile, the Masonic Village & Elizabethtown Model Railroad Club opens its doors on December 6, 13, and 20, with extended hours on December 7. On December 13, the Northern Central Modular Railroaders will join forces to showcase their model train display at the same venue.

For those seeking a year-round fix, the Choo Choo Barn in Strasburg is open daily, charging $12 for adults and $8 for children aged 3-11. The Short Line Model Railroad Club in Ephrata offers weekend viewing from 1-4 p.m. through January 12. The Elizabethtown Public Library hosts displays on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout December, with free admission and extended hours on December 13.
