Laura Loomer calls India her favorite country after transformative visit

Far-right activist Laura Loomer has described India as the best country she has ever visited. After attending the India Today Conclave in 2024, she shared her admiration for the people, culture, and hospitality. Her comments follow past controversies over her remarks about the Indian community.

Loomer's trip included a visit to an elephant sanctuary and a meeting with the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala. She repeatedly praised the warmth of Indians, calling them the nicest people she has ever met. The experience, she said, changed her earlier views of the country.

At the India Today Conclave, she apologised for previous statements that had offended Indian communities. She also expressed her intention to return, particularly to explore South India. Throughout her stay, she reported feeling safe and welcomed.

Her enthusiasm extended beyond personal impressions. Loomer predicted that India would become the next global superpower, citing its rapid growth and influence.

Despite her public praise and high-profile appearances, no reports or surveys indicate a shift in how Indians view the USA following her visit. Loomer, however, has made it clear she plans to return. Her next trip will focus on regions she has yet to explore.
